Program Description

We are excited to continue “Compassionate Kids,” our successful afternoon program for children, with a spiritual emphasis.

Our program helps children from Kindergarten to 6th grade develop thoughtful values, a sense of caring, and personal responsibility and reflection. Through Bible stories, art, drama, music and community service projects, children explore and experience ways of creating peace, tolerance, kindness and empathy.

Learning and music time is overseen by Rev. Stephanie Ryder. Stephanie is the Pastor at Redwoods Presbyterian Church and was formerly the Music Director and Pastoral Associate for Community Formation. She is assisted by a 4th-year attendee of the program who is a rising 8th grader at Mill Valley Middle School.  A snack time with veggies, juice and other healthy treats will be supervised by Diane Forster and Debbie Lundberg.

The program, open to children of all faiths, starts a fall session soon and will meet at 3:30 pm on Wednesdays, September 13, 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8 & 15, with optional participation in Sunday worship at 10 am on September 24, October 29 and November 26. Cost is $100.

If you would like to have your children participate in this program, please contact Stephanie Ryder at 415-924-4832 or stephryder1@gmail.com.
